The report
Savills, on behalf of St John’s College, has let office space on St John’s Innovation Park in Cambridge to Global Inkjet systems Ltd and Collabora Ltd.
Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), the global leader of industrial inkjet software, data path electronics, and system components has agreed to a new five-year lease for space totalling 9,953 sq ft (924 sq m) and will occupy suites on the ground and first floor of Edinburgh House. Already on the park, GIS’ move to larger premises following the business’s rapid expansion means that up to 9,073 sq ft (843 sq m) is now available to let in the Jeffreys building in two separate suites.
Furthermore, Collabora, the Open Source technology specialist, has agreed to a new six-year lease for 2,548 sq ft (236 sq m) on part of the ground floor of The Platinum Building. These latest deals follow the recent pre-let to Darktrace, the cyber security firm who is set to occupy 19,813 sq ft (1,840 sq m) across the top two floors of the new Maurice Wilkes Building upon its completion in June 2018.
William Clarke, associate director of business space at Savills Cambridge, comments: “Situated in the heart of the northern cluster, St John’s Innovation Park is a R&D business area making it the ideal location for these occupiers. Providing straightforward expansion opportunities along with improved accessibility, following the opening of the new train station later this year, the park continues to attract businesses from across the spectrum whether they be start-ups or large international corporates.”
Global Inkjet Systems Ltd advised themselves and Collabora Ltd was advised by Robert Alston Ltd.
